About Me
I’m Michelle, the face behind TMP. Mum to 2 wonderful children and owner of a very lively dog! I am a practising NHS nurse with 20 years experience.
I have long recognised the benefits of meditation, mindfulness and breathing techniques.
From using breathing techniques to ease physical symptoms of ill health to mindfulness when coping with anxiety or stress, the benefits are life-changing and well-researched. Meditation for me is now an essential tool in my daily life for my own well-being and calm. Since forming a regular habit, I have observed many positive changes in my life. My personal resilience has increased, and I have greater clarity and confidence in my decisions alongside positivity and gratitude for life. I also recognise there is a need for meditation and calm within our modern fast-paced society.
During 2021 I suffered significantly with my own mental health, resulting in 3 months off work.
Naively, I had thought my own mental health resilience was strong, yet I was doing nothing to protect or build it. I was taking on more and more, often telling others, “I’m fine”, and always feeling I was rushing on to the next thing. I credit meditation with strengthening my own mental well-being, and this sparked in me a passion to share this wonderful skill. I embarked upon my meditation teacher training, which I have enjoyed immensely and gained great insight.
I continue to learn and grow, and have also completed a Meditation and Mental Health Facilitator course, which I will be using to enhance and support my practice. Mental well-being is relevant to all of us, and can have a direct impact upon our physical health. I look forward to sharing ways in which a meditation habit can fit seamlessly into your busy day-to-day life.
This Meditation Place aims to bring meditations which are accessible to all.
With a grounding and seasonal feel running through its core. I have also been working hard on tools and products (in collaboration with Alphy and Becs aromatherapy), to aid and bring about a regular consistent habit simply. Whilst it can be useful to meditate in the same place at the same time, meditation really can be practised in any place, at any time. The Meditation Place can be found in all of us whenever it is needed- it is just about accessing that place of calm anytime necessary. My products have been designed to assist and aid with accessing the meditative state effectively anytime it is needed.
