Winter Meditation

Winter can be a wonderful time for meditation, a time of stillness and a time to go inwards. It is the perfect time for you to allow yourself some calm and balance. This is particularly important in Winter, when we can all feel a little run down and perhaps have less energy. Meditation can give us a much needed boost to our energy and immune systems. As we embark on Winter meditation, imagine the crisp chill in the air, the delicate touch of frost, and the quiet beauty as Winter unfolds. In the midst of the cold, there lies a unique opportunity for introspection and reflection, much like the stillness that settles upon a snow-covered landscape.
You may find you embrace the darkness and stillness Winter brings, or you may find the seasonal change difficult. Recognising this will help you with an acceptance of the season and enable you to connect more deeply to yourself. We can look back on previous seasons with gratitude and accept where we are right now. Notice how nature knows instinctively how to adapt to the changing of the seasons. In Winter, nature slows down, gently resting and softly turning inwards preparing to rest for future seasonal change. We can take lessons from nature, adapting gently throughout the year. As we gently move into Winter, and notice the weather becoming colder and the days shorter, know we can move forward gently with acceptance.
